Lodge 82 was first chartered on February 16th, 1982 by 18 sworn police officers working for the then Towson State University Police Department. It was formed as a fraternal organization and remained primarily a fraternal organization until March 16th, 2005. On that date the police officers of the Towson University Police Department unanimously voted to have Lodge 82 become their collective bargaining representative. On July 1st, 2006 the first memorandum of understanding negotiated between Towson University and FOP Lodge 82 went into effect. FOP Lodge 82 continues to provide essential services to its members, Towson University, and the surrounding community.
FOP Lodge 82 is committed to fostering a positive, unbiased and inclusive relationship between the Towson University community and the professional police officers that serve the community.
